Top 10 Tips for Structuring SEO-friendly URLs

The URL of your website is like a shop name, which often becomes a hallmark of your business. It is the link address that represents your organization, products, and services in search engines and social platforms.

The structure of a URL matters the most as it is your virtual identity. The users tend to remember names of online stores since they have excellent shopping experiences. In order to get maximum exposure and reach, you are required to adopt a URL structure that is friendly for the users as well as the search engines.

Just like the way users scan a web address, the search robots also visit your websites to rank it against a matching query. If these machines are unable to detect the nature, scope, and purpose of a web page, they will find it difficult while indexing and ranking. And, your website will be shown in search results against irrelevant terms and queries (or, maybe not at all). To help you easily refine the SEO friendliness and readability of your website, we are sharing the top 10 tips.

1. Use Simple Words
The online buyers like to remember the web address of their favorite online stores. Most of the online stores have a target audience of less educated people, who will never bother to cite the meaning of a complex term you have used for your products. They will proceed with the purchase if they understand about the product at the first glance, else they may leave.

So, it is recommended to use simple words that are simple, easy to pronounce and remember, and they will love to shop most often and refer the website by word of mouth. For example, you can prefer to use “women-clothing” in spite of “women-ensemble” or “women-couture" in the domain, category or product URL.

2. Clean away the codes
In most of the blogging and eCommerce platforms, a number of codes are added to the URL by default, which makes the URLs look ugly. They are no more attractive and meaningful to a target audience.

For example, www.example.com/342fsdoj8743fdasdcc?[]00983mfp does not make sense. You can replace the codes with meaningful text.

3. Canonicalize pages with duplicate content
Publishing the same content on multiple pages can penalize your website for duplication and plagiarism. The search engines are quite touchy about the uniqueness of the content. If you are serving the same content on multiple URLs, the search robots may consider it duplicate and may charge you under the infringement of the copyright policy they follow. Related:Group Buy SEO Tools

Two URLs that are directing users to common content adversely affect the search engine rankings. So, to make the search engines understand the content is common, you can specify a preferred URL by adding canonical tags. And, it avoids any duplication charges.

4. Add the Keywords Wisely Related:Group Buy SEO Tools
Add business keywords to the URLs as it is still a wise decision. It makes the URLs consistent with page titles and description and grabs a positive first impression. But, most of the webmasters are in the habit of repeating keywords in URLs through different methods. It goes like adding a keyword to the root domain and reusing it as category and landing page suffix in the URLs.

For instance, stuffing the keyword ‘mobile’ in different sections of a mobile shop URL.

http://exampleMobilesandelectronics.com/mobiles/iphone-mobiles/ Related:Group Buy SEO Tools

It can be simplified as,

http://exampleMobilesandelectronics.com/iphones/

The experts suggest the wise and fair inclusion of keywords in web addresses. Inserting key-phrases more than necessary will harm the search engine rankings as well as the user experience. In addition to this, keep following the digital marketing experts for the usage of exact match keyword in URLs, because the practices change with the passage of time.

5. Keep the URLs short
A short URL is attractive and easy to remember. In terms of SEO, a long URL is dealt equally as a short one, but when it comes to usability, a longer structure creates a lot of issues. For example, posting a long URL in a forum or sending it in an email becomes meaningless like

https://www.example.com/en/products/?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&q= Stadhouderskade+42,+Amsterdam,+The+Netherlands&sll=40.71451,-74.0071 4&sspn

This auto-shortening will take display a 404 error to the users and you may lose potential customers. Short URLs are attractive in the sense that the users can easily read, understand and remember them. It also gives the impression that the website has a simple structure and that one can easily find required products or services. This compels users to visit your website, and you achieve a higher click through rate through SERPs and social media feed.

6. Make the URL consistent with the title
The URL of a web page is often sandwiched between a title and description whether it appears in a search engine or shared on social media. The users take a look at the snippet and judge the credibility of your online store. If the URL of a product page has a misleading title, the users are less likely to trust and click it.

In most of the social media post, you might be wondering what to write in the caption area while sharing a URL. Most of the marketers either leave it blank or write something irrelevant, which is less effective in making the users click it.

For example, your search for ‘black leather shoes for men' and on the top of the results you find a link http://examplestore.com/black-leather-shoes-for-men/ but the titles say ‘Gift and toy shop – Example Store' will you like to click and see what they have to offer? Or will drag down to view other results? Surely, you will ignore for reading a misleading title that neither matches its root domain or the URL suffix.

7. Skip stop words
The use of stop words like for, but, and, of, etc. in a URL may stop search engine to understand a phrase. These common words distort the meaning of a phrase when the search bot skips them.

For example, a URL that is structured as

http://yourwebsite.com/7-tips-you-need-to-know-for-marketing-your-blog/ will be taken as http://yourwebsite.com/7-tips-need-know-marketing-blog/

Instead of indexing your web pages through a meaningless slug, restructure it for better results. And, remove the skip words like this one,

http://yourwebsite.com/7-blog-marketing-tips/

8. Use word separators
For higher readability, use word separators like a dash or underscore. A URL is considered worth visiting as a user can recognize the words easily. There are various separators that are in use by the webmasters. It includes a dot (.), an underscore (_) and hyphen (-). It separates the words within a URL to make them readable.

For example, http://yourstore.com/mensleatherjackets/ can be made readable by separators like

http://yourstore.com/mens.leather.jackets/

http://yourstore.com/mens_leather_jackets/

http://yourstore.com/mens-leather-jackets/

The problem with the first one is that the URL suffix does not have sufficient space to recognize each word separately. In the second example, the underscores combine with the underline which is also confusing. That’s why the marketers prefer to use hyphens, as used in the third example.

9. Make the best use of redirections
Redirection is like getting traffic and popularity from all the previous URLs of your online. it often happiness that either you have to modify the URLs either for rebranding or restructuring for better SEO. In redefining the URL structure, you may lose traffic and web ranking if they are not redirected.

Set redirections to continue receiving the link juice to your page rankings from the previous as well as the recent URLs. This is the main purpose of setting redirections, whereas most of the marketers overdo it to secure higher page visits. It needs to be stopped as soon as possible, because the higher number of page visits may lead you to unrealistic analytics.

The purpose of a redirection is to serve the users and search engines find alternative web pages. You can make best out of the redirections for broken links and edited URLs to retain web traffic and link juice. But, keep it limited to the purpose rather than availing unfair advantage.

10. Combine the www and non-www versions
The www and non-www version of your website are treated as separate entities. You might be losing website ranking if they are indexed and ranked separately. It may pose the issue of duplicate content as discussed in the above tip for canonicalizing multiple URLs on the same page. To have the benefit of your SEO efforts, consolidate both versions with a canonical tag.Special Offer:

5 Examples of Great Comparison Tables and Charts to Increase Conversions

Comparison charts and information tables are one of the best ways to provide your audience with the exact information they are looking for. When someone visits Google and types in any type of shopping, review or comparison related keyword or phrase, they are already in ‘buying mode‘. Once the visitor ends up on your site, it’s your job to make sure you make it as easy as possible for them to find what they need, and then take action.
No matter what you are selling, what type of niche site you have or even if you are just an affiliate marketer looking to send leads elsewhere, a comparison table can do wonders for your site. In today’s article, we are going to look at a few different examples of what’s working for other sites in the industry and how you can start implementing the same.

Easy to Follow Pricing and Plan Comparison Charts

If you ever need an example of what type of style works best for anything, simply refer to any of the top sites in the industry and they will have millions of dollars in testing, resources and marketing behind their sites. A perfect example of this can be seen on sites like Shopify and Amazon — both have perfected the art of customer sign-ups and making information easy to absorb.
Through the Shopify pricing chart below you can see the three different plans offered by the service, along with an easy to follow breakdown of each. It’s always a stressful and dragged out process to decide what type of plan is right for your business, but this easy and clean breakdown does a great job of showing which may best fit your needs.

Dynamic and Interactive Product Review Charts

Information provided to your audience is always going to be important, but it’s also crucial to delivering it to them in a way that they can make the most use of it. Pet Breeds has done an excellent job at rating different pet foods, while also giving the end user the ability to see charts in full color, ratings from users and also the best places to buy online.
However, the real value and uniqueness in their comparison charts are the ability to sort by brand, name, protein source, life stage and much more. As you make changes to the settings in the left-hand menu, the chart will actively update with new information. Not only will this provide huge value to your audience, it will also help your site always stay up to date with the latest information and reviews, versus simply always being a static text-only state.

Quick Rating, Review and Bonus Style Charts

As you can see, comparison chart can come in a wide range of sizes and styles. In this example, we can see how effective a simple text and image comparison chart can still be for an affiliate or resource site. As mentioned in my previous article on how gaming affiliates are leaving money on the table, there are many different things can be done to instantly improve user experience and conversions on a site. A perfect example of this can be seen through the $1 minimum deposit bonus chart below.
The goal for the affiliate site is to simply provide the end user with the best information possible, then a more detailed rating and review should they wish to pursue that individual offer. With so many different sites to promote and affiliate offers to earn from, this type of layout has become common place among ‘online review’ style sites.

Niche Specific and Individual Product Comparison Charts

Sticking with the concept of always giving the end user exactly what they are looking for, if you are in the product/sales space, a detailed comparison chart like the one below from Metro Kitchen could make the world of a difference for your site.
We all know the headaches and frustrations that come with making a purchase, but the easier you can make it for your audience to make a decision — all the better for both sites. This method has commonly been used Amazon affiliates (as recommended by Spencer Hawes) for attracting user clicks and increasing conversions. Not only that, it’s also a great way to create keyword-rich content for your site and improving search rankings.

User Generated Information and Review-Based Comparison Charts Related:Group Buy SEO Tools

We all know the value in creating text content and information ourselves, but if you have the ability to take information from your audience and turn that into your own site content… even better! Related:Group Buy SEO Tools
This is one of the major differences between ‘affiliate’ style resource sites and ‘brand’ sites that rely on user reviews and testimonials. A great example of this can be seen at Who Is Hosting This, as they specialize in the world of web hosting and providing users with real customer reviews on the best hosting solutions out there. Just like I pointed out in the interactive pet food chart above, this site also has a changing comparison chart based on the left-side option menus. Where this comparison chart stands out from the others, is the always updating user reviews and rating systems built into the platform.

Increase Site Conversions and Revenue with Comparison and Review Charts

As you can see, comparison charts are being used across a wide range of industries and markets. No matter what you are selling or promoting, giving your audience the right information and visuals to make it easy for them to complete a specific task is key. Run through each of the examples above and see which style might be best for your site Special Offer:

What’s Your Drug of Choice?

one of the most fascinating things that you’ll learn about Internet marketing isn’t really the variety of ways you can make some serious money online. Instead, it’s the clear demonstration that just about anyone can come from just about any situation and discover tremendous success out the other side.
You may already know, for instance, that John Chow himself grew up in one of Canada’s poorest neighborhoods and he is one of the best known and most successful Internet marketers today. In his new book Drug of Choice, Mark Van Stratum documents his journey from a life of drugs and crime to that of a jet-setting millionaire. Let’s get started with the review.

The True Story of the One-Armed Criminal

It’s obvious enough to anyone that some people are simply born into a better situation than others. If your parents are rich and successful, you will be afforded a great number of privileges denied to countless others. Conversely, if you have a rough childhood, your struggles will be more difficult.
In many ways, Drug of Choice should not be viewed as some sort of manual for how you too can make millions of dollars on the Internet. Instead, it describes Mark’s personal journey through hardship and how he was able to overcome those challenges. You could say it’s his memoir. It’s all told from a first-person perspective.Related:Group Buy SEO Tools
Mark talks about when he was just five years old, waking up in a hospital, unsure of how he got there. His arm had been run over by a train and had to be amputated. While it seems like he took it in stride himself (he hated staying at the hospital), the kids at school thought differently. He learned very quickly (and wrongly) that violence was the answer.
And then his father left when he was 12. Yes, Mark Van Stratum certainly started out from a rough spot.Related:Group Buy SEO Tools

Turning to a Life of Crime

If you’re hoping for a book full of pictures that you can finish in one sitting, this probably isn’t it. There are over 200 pages of straight text here, but the writing style makes for a light and easy read. It’s like a fictional tale, except everything in it is a true and accurate account (to the best of his memory) of Mark’s life.
He takes us along, for instance, to the time he robbed an office building with his best friend Alvin, another ne’er-do-well who never did fit in with the other kids. They were “brothers,” even though they weren’t related and weren’t even of the same race.
The narrative is approachable and compelling, while the actual chapters are kept relatively short so you always feel compelled to read just a little bit more. Why is his mother crying? How did he get into drugs and alcohol? What happened to turn all of this around?

Turning Things Around

Of course, this blog is mostly about Internet marketing and the dot com lifestyle, so it only makes sense that a sizable portion of the book is dedicated to that aspect of Mark’s life today. We learn how he connects with other successful entrepreneurs like Charles Ngo… as well as professional skydivers, apparently.
We learn about the myriad of other lessons he learned along the way, how he was able to turn his life around and start raking in the serious cash as an affiliate marketer. That became his new “drug of choice,” so to speak.

The Power of Choice

The take-home lesson that you will hopefully glean from reading this book is that it really is never too late to change. Rise above your circumstances, make better decisions, and with a little luck on your side, you could be on the receiving end of seven-figure affiliate payouts too.
Today, Mark Van Stratum says he has created “a fulfilling life” with a “worldwide circle of friends” and multiple businesses “boasting millions of dollars annually.” I think we all want something like that, right?

How To Ensure Your Content Stays Evergreen

For those of you not familiar with the term “Evergreen”, it’s content with NO expiry date. Many bloggers emphasize the importance of evergreen content because it will continue to provide value throughout the years. Personally, your content marketing should be based on this concept simply because of the benefits. For example, if you’re marketing a product through your content, then through an evergreen approach, you can make profit for years going forward. If your content is relevant, then it’ll provide value years down the line, increasing overall ROI. However, many bloggers fail to implement this strategy into their marketing. Next,
Taking advantage of this strategy doesn’t have to be stressful because all you have to do is follow specific guidelines when creating your content. I’ve outlined some of the important elements below that will ensure your content stays evergreen and doesn’t expiry with time.

Write Content You Can Update

For you to stay relevant, you have to create content you can continually update. Many people write content applicable to today and later, they won’t be able to update because the topic is obsolete. For example, I create content that I can update at a later time if I need to, like writing content on “effective link building techniques”. Even if some strategies change over time, I’ll be able to simply remove, tweak, and/or update my content. Next,
Google understands the importance of “evergreen” so they’ve incorporated the freshness algorithm into their content. This update will reward bloggers who regularly update their content with higher rankings. Why? It’s a great incentive to go “evergreen”, making sure search results always provide the MOST up-to-date information online. What can you do?
Going forward, always ask yourself if the content you’re writing will be relevant 5 years from now and if you need to update, how easily can it be done? No point in writing content that won’t provide value 2 months from now.

Create Content that’s Easy to Share

Social media is an awesome lifeline and can extend the importance of content. Content is only viable if it continues to be marketed in front of people. This is why it’s important to create content that’s very easy to share and link to so start by implementing these strategies.
First, install social share buttons on your website above and below your content. Next, you want to make sure people can easily join your social profiles because you can automatically “share” content to them using Bufferapp.com. This tool will allow you to schedule tweets, which will be completely automated. Next, use an auto-backlink plugin within your content so people can easily create a link with the click of a mouse button. Utilizing this plug-in will increase your content in the SERP’s, driving enormous organic traffic.
If you’ve written epic content, then send it to authority bloggers in your niche, asking them to share it on your social profiles. You’ll get it in front of people, increasing engagement, links, and brand awareness. However, make sure you’ve written content of value so NO matter when it was published, it still provides substance.

Republish or Syndication

Sometimes, to breathe life into your content, you might want to consider giving people the right to republish your content. Many bloggers will tell you this will hurt your organic rankings but I believe it really depends on the website in charge of republishing. For example, many aggregated content websites are still performing well after the recent Panda update aimed eliminating “republishing” website. I believe their success has to do with a thorough moderation policy and only aggregating the very best content. These sites often build partnerships with authority blogs, then republishing their content if it meets the quality standards. In the end, the content republished provides enormous value, which is Google’s ultimate objective. Here’s something you can try…
Start by doing a quick search online, looking for the very best syndication websites. Perform a quick search, typing in this phrase, “syndication websites”, and you’ll be able to find complete guides on how to get started. Contact the top websites, asking them about their requirements. Skim through your previous content, looking for epic content that can use help getting in front of people. Make sure your content meets the following quality guidelines…
  • Correctly formatted
  • In-depth
  • Solves a common problem
  • It should be an ultimate guide (how-to, tutorial). My highest performing content is over 5,000+ words.
Once you’ve narrowed down your content, you can submit it to syndication websites. They’ll either accept or send you some feedback. It doesn’t hurt to create new content following their requirements then submitting it for syndication. These websites have a huge network and will be able to market your content to millions of people.Special Offer:

Top 3 SEO Tips for Pet Business Websites 2017

One of the drawbacks for business owners is the lack of understanding the language used by computer savvy people. They just may not grasp what certain words mean and it is like talking gibberish to them. Talking Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or on-page or off-page means nothing to them as those terms just do not enter the normal pet vocabulary they use every day.
With the right help, though, pet business owners can understand the basics of computer lingo and get their internet advertising on track. Here are just 3 tips to help you search engine optimize your site and will help you as a pet business owner to get the most out of the internet and reach a bigger audience.
1.  Use the Right URL
Universal resource location (URL) is merely your internet address. Just like your pet business has a postal address your website has one as well. The only difference is that with the internet you get to choose what your address will be and making the right choice will influence your website traffic.
They say that the .PET domain is now open to the public which means that by picking this as your extension for your pet business address, it will help make your pet business more visible online.
Also having the word pet in your URL means that you may get a higher ranking on search engines and a higher ranking translates into more visibility and possibly more customers. A good URL should be short, memorable and dash free. Remember a URL is for location not for selling purposes.
2. Improve Your Website
Some keys to improving your internet presence is to have a great website. You do not want a slow loading home page as that just turns potential customers off and they go looking elsewhere for their pet needs. The search engines will penalize your site for this. The faster the better.
A well designed web page will help a lot as you do not want too much white or too much clutter. Make sure you have the proper structure and H1 and H2 titles on each page. You want to make sure you also take a few extra minutes to fill in those meta title and meta description input fields for each page. Aesthetically balance is the key term here when designing your webpage design. Be consistent in your use of details like font, their size, keywords , colors, images and so on; then make sure you have quality content that will attract your potential customer’s attention and hold it.
An attractive, well planned and up to date website will help you be visible and get you that SEO presence you want for your business.
3. Have a Good Marketing Strategy
Like any business that relies on traditional marketing strategies, a business using the internet must rely upon a good marketing strategy that will bring clicks to your website. With more clicks the higher your SEO rankings and the higher your SEO ranking the more visible you become. The more visible you become, the more potential customers you will attract.
Learn how to market your business on the internet. Links to other websites, allow other websites to link to your webpage and so on. The more backlinks to you can create back to the website the higher Google and other search engines will rank your site. These backlinks will also help you get people to click on your links and have them visit your webpage. Marketing is king.
These are just 3 SEO tips to help your business grow both on the internet and in customer base. Utilize these and others and you will see the difference in your business.Win Piriform CCleaner Professional Giveaway (10 x Full Licenses) support by Group Buy SEO Tools https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Mention this giveaway part on your blog, and send us link at doogeetop@gmail.com, you can a chance get free Piriform CCleaner Professional V5.30 license.

Actionable Ecommerce SEO Tips for Online Retailers

Actionable Ecommerce SEO Tips for Online Retailers
You’ve got a great product, a slick looking ecommerce site but you’re not getting any visitors and not making any sales… what gives?

Most online retailers struggle with search engine optimisation (SEO) because there is a lot of work to put in. Your site is constantly changing with product updates, fulfilling orders, deliveries and stock management, plus your daily business tasks and social media marketing.

However, with the right knowledge and some hard work you can easily make some improvements and start to rise above the competition.

Like any website, ecommerce sites need visitors. But you need the right kind of visitors – ones that are ready to buy from you. By raising the position of your website within Google you can increase the amount of visitors you will receive compared to other websites selling similar products and increase your chances of making the all important sale.

If you follow the changes in this article you will vastly improve your ecommerce SEO and start to improve your visitors and sales.

Unique Page Titles and H1 Headings

The first ecommerce SEO tip is for each product you want to have a unique page title and H1 heading. The page title is the information shown in search engines and is the first thing people will read. Your page title should include brand names, product models, target keywords and if you have room, your business name.

H1 headings are usually your main product titles. These should include brand names, product models and target keywords. The trick is provide enough information that is keyword rich but make it readable for the visitor.

After you’ve chosen your word carefully you need to check that it’s the correct length and not truncated when viewed on search engine.

Unique Meta Descriptions

The second piece of information that people generally read after your page title is the meta description. The meta description is the short snippet of text displayed in search engines.

Your meta descriptions need to be unique for each product and introduces the visitor to your page.

Meta descriptions do not influence rankings but they should include a call to action to persuade visitors to click on your link. It’s important that meta descriptions are the correct length and are not truncated when viewed on search engines.

Structured Data

Do you want to know how to get your product data to appear in the search results? Using structured data can display the following details about your product;

  • Stock data
  • Price
  • Reviews
  • Name of seller
  • Condition of product
When comparing two products in the search results, which do you think the visitor will click on? The product showing the name and a brief description or the product showing that it’s in stock, its price and five star review by ten people?

Product Descriptions

Your product description needs to be unique, well formatted, informative and help your customers make purchasing decisions if you want to have the ecommerce SEO edge. You don’t want to use the standard manufacturer’s description for the following reasons;

  1. Your website can be penalised for having duplicate content.
  2. There’s a good chance that there are many other websites using the same content.
Your content needs to be unique so that Google can view your content as valuable and rank it on it’s own merits.

Correctly formatted content is also an important aspect. You want your visitors to be able to read content easily and scan the content for the key features. I’d suggest having an introduction to appeal to the visitor followed by bullet points listing all the key features.

Optimise Products Based on Search Demand

If you want potential customers find your products when searching on Google, it’s important to research your keywords and use them in the correct places.

You want to choose keywords that have good search volume, so you know people are looking for these products. You also want to include brand names and product models in your keywords. These will provide long tail keywords which will drive visitors with a higher intent to purchase.

You want to place your keywords in the following places;

  • Brand names and models in page titles and H1 headings.
  • Target keywords in page titles and H1 headings.
  • Target keywords in your content.
  • Target keywords in you alt attribute for product images.
Keyword research is important because you might name your product one thing and everyone knows it as something else. A good example is “prams”, “pushchairs” and “strollers”. They are essentially the same kind of item but what does the majority of people call them.

Keyword research can identify the difference in search demand for these products. If there is a higher search demand for “strollers”, then that would be the recommended keyword to use.

Search Engine Friendly URLs

It’s important that your URLs are search engine friendly.

For example; yourdomain.co.uk/product/apple-27-inch-imac is much better than yourdomain.co.uk/product=p1133$?.

Using descriptive search engine friendly URLs are better than dynamic URLs because you can;

  • Include your brand name and target keywords.
  • It’s easy for the visitor to know what to expect when they click on the link.
  • If an external website links to your product page, your keywords will be in the anchor text, improving the link equity.
Product Reviews

About 70% of buyers are looking for products reviews when they are shopping online. Potential customers like to see social proof before they commit to buying a product. This is especially important if they have never bought from you previously or trying a new product.

Another great reason to allow customer product reviews is because it generates unique content. For ecommerce sites it can be difficult to create unique content across hundreds of pages. Reviews can solve this issue.

Site Structure

It goes without saying that your visitors need to navigate around your website easily without any roadblocks. You want to ensure that your categories are meaningful and the relevant products are included in the correct categories.

Once a visitor is on a main category page you can introduce sub-menus or filters so they can drill down and just look at the products they are interested in.

A good tip is to include related products on single product pages. This way you can suggest other products that will complement the product they are looking at. Not only are you up selling but you are improving your internal linking, making it easy to navigate around your website.

Security

If you’ve got an ecommerce website you should be using a HTTPS connection. Letting your customers know that your site is secure will help in the following areas;

  • Submitting personal data via your website will be encrypted.
  • Showing an HTTPS connection will increase the trust of your website, letting your customers know they can shop safely.
  • There is a slight increase in rankings for sites using HTTPS.
Product Images

It’s important to have high quality, clear images that represent the product perfectly. When you’re creating the images for your products, it’s good practice to use the product name in the file name. It’s not always possible to do this because it’s time consuming but it’s worth noting.

Secondly, it’s good to include a descriptive ALT attribute to your images. ALT attributes are used to increase the accessibility of your website. Visually impaired visitors using screen readers will have the ALT text read to them so they know what images appear on the page.

Make sure your ALT text is descriptive but you can also include target keywords where relevant.

Fix Your Broken Links

If you want your visitors to reach your website and remain on it you need to keep all your links working properly. Broken links can occur by removing products or changing the URL and forgetting to create redirects.

If someone lands on a 404 page or navigates to one, the chances are they will leave your site and go shopping elsewhere. To monitor broken links and keep your customers happy, you can use Google Search Console.

Set Up Google Search Console

Google Search Console (formally known as Google Webmaster Tools) is a great way to keep an eye on your website. From the Search Console you’ll be able to submit an XML sitemap which will tell Google you’ve got website pages you’d like to be indexed for search.

Another important feature is the Crawl Errors section. This will tell you if your pages can’t be accessed. If you’re receiving a lot of 404 errors from broken links, you’ll need to start creating redirects to ensure your visitors are reaching the correct products and pages.
